In collaboration with: DC Rocks

In collaboration with DC Rocks, officers and members of DMV AWG helped plan and host several field trip events for elementary school students from EW Stokes Elementary. The field trips included a hike in Rock Creek Park led by Callan Bentley to showcase DC metamorphic and sedimentary geology; a visit to the Minerals & Gems exhibit in the Natural History Museum assisted by Madeline Shaffer, which included teaching the students different techniques used to identify minerals; and a tour of the NOAA headquarters assisted by Beverly Walker, which included participation in the launch of a weather balloon!
